What is the prize?
1st place will receive:
- 1 x dedicated lab bench in the shared space at Heyford Park for a year worth £7,200
- Oxford Innovation Space business support worth £1,200
- Professional services support worth £1,800
- Lab Supervisor support worth £600
- Access to 1,500 ft shared lab space with a range of ‘plug and play’ lab equipment
- Join a thriving HPIC science community and wider network of businesses within Oxford Innovation Space
4 runners up will receive:
- 30 minutes each and a 1-hour group session with our Lab Supervisor offering support and guidance
What happens next?
Step 1
The application form
Fill in the short form with your details and our team will be in touch with you. If you meet the eligibility criteria, we will send an application form to gather more information.
Step 2
Send in your presentation
Once you have completed your application, you will be invited to submit a presentation covering an introduction to your company (1 page), why you need the bench space (1 page) and a business plan for year 1 and up to year 5 (2 pages max).
These should be received by 13/11/2022 and emailed to info@heyford-ic.co.uk.
Step 3
Pitch Event
If your presentation is successful, you will be invited to an online ‘Pitch Event’. The ‘Pitch Event’ will take place online in ‘teams’ on Tuesday 15th November 2022 2pm – 3pm. 5 companies will be chosen to complete a 5 minute presentation, followed by Q&A (15 minutes total).
Competition Eligibility
The team at Heyford Park Innovation Centre will be in touch via telephone or email to verify the following:
- Able to work within a CL2 lab facility or lower
- Company is less than 24 months old
- Are looking to grow, commercialise your business idea and take advantage of our support
- Are within the Life Sciences or Biotech sector
- Businesses looking for proof of concept work or developing intellectual property can apply
